Irina Wavre-Saminskaya

Designation: Digital Communications Officer

Irina is passionate about developing digital communications and creating innovative multimedia content in a dynamic environment. She is skilled in communication strategy, social media management, storytelling, multimedia content creation, and digital marketing. Originally from Moscow, Irina has been interested in human rights issues since a young age and joined the Centre of Humanitarian Studies Geneva as a Digital Communications Officer in May 2023.

During her studies at Geneva University, Irina started her career in the cultural sector, working for such entities as medici.tv or Verbier Festival. In 2019, she joined a Swiss NGO Civitas Maxima as a Communications and Outreach Assistant. There she cooperated with a team of lawyers specialised in the prosecution of war criminals to devise and execute a communication strategy aimed at informing impacted communities about the trials of their perpetrators happening abroad.

Since 2021, Irina worked as a Digital Communications Officer at Prix de Lausanne, an international ballet competition for young dancers, where she managed the organisation’s digital communication and various activities to ensure their visibility and promotion online throughout the year.

Irina has an MA in Journalism and Communications from the University of Geneva and a MA in Linguistics and Translation from the Russian State University for the Humanities in Moscow.
