Rose is a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Her recent work across the social science components of two Ebola vaccine trials has focused on experiences with outbreaks, using gender and health system lenses, as well the development of a transnational platform for social science and community engagement in vaccine trials. These projects covered Sierra Leone, Guinea, Liberia, DRC and Mali.
Rose’s background since 2009 has been in the NGO and humanitarian sector conducting social science research to inform clinical and health programming and evaluations in HIV/AIDS and gender based violence across different sub-Saharan African and Pacific settings. She has held recent roles with Médecins Sans Frontières/Epicentre.
Rose is completing a staff PhD at LSHTM focussing on health service responses and women’s help-seeking for violence during the Ebola and COVID-19 outbreak periods in Sierra Leone.
