on Thursday, 28 January, our Director, Prof. Karl Blanchet, and other panelists joined the online event: COVID-19, delivering SRHR in Crises Settings, organised by The Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response. The panel, created by WHO in 2020, aims to provide an evidence-based path for the future, grounded in lessons of the present and the past to ensure countries and global institutions, including specifically WHO, effectively address health threats.

The event on 28 January was part of The Independent Panel “Exchange”, a series of town hall style meetings, open to everyone, aimed at hearing from people on the frontline of the COVID-19 pandemic. This Exchange will hear from people involved in delivering sexual and reproductive health services, particularly in crises settings. Co-Chair Helen Clark is hosting, in collaboration with the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, and the International Planned Parenthood Federation.

Speakers:

● The Rt Hon. Helen Clark, Co-Chair, the Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response
Professor Karl Blanchet, Member of the BRANCH Consortium and PMNCH Knowledge & Evidence Working Group
Nimisha Goswami, Chair of the IPPF COVID-19 Task Force

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Nibedita S. Ray-Bennett, Founding President of the Avoidable Deaths Network, University of Leicester.
