Geneva, 1 September 2020 – The Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies congratulates Professor Marie-Laure Salles on her appointment as the new Director of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (IHEID), of which we are a joint centre.
“We are delighted with the appointment of Professor Salles as the new IHEID Director”, said Professor Karl Blanchet, Director of the Geneva Centre of Humanitarian Studies. “In her new role, she brings a wealth of experience in the fields of higher education, governance, ethics and corporate social responsibility. As a joint centre, we are committed to offer her full support and to consolidate even further the already solid collaboration between our Centre and the Institute”.
The Centre also pays homage to the former Director of the Institute Professor Philippe Burrin, who provided strong direction for 16 years.
“Under the guidance of Professor Burrin, the Institute grew to become an internationally recognised academic and research centre with a strong focus on international relations and development issues. We are grateful for the support he offered to our Centre during his time as director”, concluded Professor Blanchet.
