We are proud to announce the launch of our new Course Catalogue.
We are excited about the diversity of our new academic programme, which varies in format as we embrace blended learning, sees the introduction of new courses, and an increase in our flexibility with our Executive Master in Humanitarian Action becoming more modular.
The last year has been challenging for everyone, yet we have managed to maintain our courses by switching to an online format in most circumstances. As we look to the future, we will further develop the balance between residential, blended and online courses.
Our Executive Master is a great example of this new balance, with one-third of the programme residential in Geneva, and two-thirds online. This format will ensure greater accessibility for humanitarian professionals working at regional and national levels who would find it challenging to be away from their work for more than three-four months. This new approach will widen our already diverse student body, where a class often has more than 12 nationalities within it. This diversity brings multiple perspectives, experiences and expertise that makes the course experience unique for students and lecturers alike. The Executive Master course is available either as a 14-month consecutive course, or over a flexible two-three year period.
Our academic programme offers a wide choice of learning from theoretical to practical. Our Diploma in Humanitarian Action offers a deep-dive into the humanitarian system, exploring notions of politics, power, institutions, terminology and the consequences of action/inaction. During the course, participants analyze what works, and what needs to change through critique and analysis. Our courses aim to question tradition, challenging current perspectives and routines, to discover the best solutions and approaches for contemporary humanitarian times.
Our Certificate in Quality Management of Humanitarian Projects aims to turn managers into inspiring leaders, through effective project and people management training suitable for current and future humanitarian challenges.
Finally, our wide selection of executive short courses offers professionals the opportunity to enhance their expertise in specific aspects of humanitarian action. Our courses cover negotiation, protection, health system assessment, planetary health and cash transfer and voucher management to name some of the topics.
For the academic year 2020-2021, the majority of our courses are delivered in English, however we are moving towards offering some courses in French, starting in 2021 with our Humanitarian Project Cycle Management course.
